ACT Grant Winner Featured on the Evening News

BayPort Credit Union and HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding division announced the awarding of the $500,000 Accelerating Change Together (ACT) Grant to the Virginia Beach Education Foundation. WAVY TV-10 was there to catch the excitement when the VBEF was presented their check.

In 1928, 12 shipyard workers from Newport News Shipbuilding formed an organization with a specific purpose as a low-interest source of loans and a trusted place to deposit money.
